Ordinary rectifier diode

Ordinary rectifier diode

A rectifier diode is a semiconductor component used to convert AC into DC. The most important characteristic of a diode is unilateral conductivity. In the circuit, the current can only flow in from the anode of the diode and out from the cathode. It usually consists of a PN junction with positive and negative terminals.
